2005 Bloggie Awards

Well jigger me sideways into a stove pipe hat. It would seem that someone has nominated me for the ‘Best British or Irish Weblog’ category in this years bloggies! I’m up against the likes of Tom Coates though, so I may have to concede and buy my own four fingered Kit-Kat. What a heart-warming piece of news for my first day back at work, thankyou to whoever voted!

Very well done, and well deserved. I think this site is the perfect representation of not only your skills and talent, but can showcase us Brits alongside the more prominenet american blogs.

I for one am routing for you to be deemed worthy of a bloggie!

Go you!
Shame about the site though.
About KitKat, do you guys also have the ads with the tagline, “How do you want to eat your KitKat? Like this, like that”?

You had until the 24th off?
#6

Stuart said 1355 days ago:

indranil – our kit kat ads normally use the tag-line ‘have a break, have a kit-kat’.

York City’s football stadium just got changed from Bootham Cresent, to KitKat Cresent. You can imagine the sorry puns that will now fill the stadium!

Having said that it’s no picnic running a football club, York have been through rocky times & I for one will give my full support to any bounty that will boost the clubs funds, regardless of any ripples caused.

Congrats + appologies Jon!!

I’ve always loved that tagline.
In our country, however, they had the bright idea of changing it for all the commercials. :(

Bah, server down.

Is there any actual Irish in the ‘British or Irish Weblog’ catagory? Actually, I can’t think of a candidate. Forget I said anything.

You might want to thank Michael Heilemann, of Binary Bonsai as he mentions your site in this post , and he’s one of the panelists.
I agree with him, BTW. your site is an inspiration, and as soon as the nomination site works again, you’ll get my vote!

You’re going to have to go to SXSW now, if only to accept your prize. I’d accept it for you, but I’m not sure it’d survive the journey home :-)

pwnage means ownage only.. it comes from a quake3 mod.. it shows “You pwned!” after you won the game because the coder mistyped it.. (note that “p” is right next to “o” on the keyboard)

Thom – thanks for the explanation! You kids and your obscure gaming references…

I’m sure I could arrange a consolation prize for the non-winning nominees of, say, a two-finger Kit Kat. Or if you’re really lucky, a Kit Kat Chunky.
