6.02.06 A new home for Aronnax
Whenever anyone has asked me if I was going to a Firefox theme, I tell them there’s no point. There’s a chap called Aronnax, who has created some beautiful themes that make Firefox feel a whole lot more like a Mac product.
Recently, his site at spymac has been down a lot, so I offered him the Take back the web.org site as something more reliable. I felt it was so important that his themes are as available as possible, as they really make Firefox liveable on a Mac. He’s redesigned too, take a look.
The old Firefox wallpaper is still available.

I’m so glad somebody did this, because his work is nothing short of amazing. Jon, you need to hook him up with an RSS feed

Lovely themes. A shame the standard orange RSS indicator in the address bar is turned to a muted grey/black though.

That was awfully generous of you. It’s good to see that “open-source” spirit perpetuated across the web. Viva la Fox.

thanks jon.

Big kudos, Jon. Thanks for doing this. Like you, I’m a bit of a theme fiend and having these available for Firefox on OS X is definitely something worthwhile.
This kind of good server karma brings back memories… back in 1995/96, I was working as an executive at a web development firm called Silicon Reef in San Francisco and had met Craig Newmark at some gig. I later found out that he was looking for a hosting provider for his mailing list (which had grown beyond its original server). I thought what he was doing was wonderful and pitched it to my boss as something we should do pro bono, as a community good. We did so until he outgrew us.
Man, that seems like a long time ago…

@Trevor
OK – you are not the only one with this opinion ;-)
i have added a description to change the RSS indicator.
http://www.takebacktheweb.org/CaE.html
(but i will not change the muted grey/black in the themes)
by the way
if “mozilla update” would works better with Mac only themes, a site like this would be absolute unnecessary – but it dosn’t ;-(
https://addons.mozilla.org/themes/authorprofiles.php?id=888
to Jon Hicks: many thanks – to “mozilla update”: thanks for nothing ;-)

thank you jon, that’s good news! klasse aronnax, deine themes sind wirklich die besten im firefox-universum!
∞ Trevor said 1462 days ago:
@Aronnax: Thanks for the orange RSS icon solution! The theme is now perfect (... IMO, of course ;))

It’s awesome — with the Aqua/PPC build it really feels like an OSX app. Thank you.
By the way, is there a major difference between the themes?
(Isn’t anyone preparing similar Thunderbird themes? :D)

Also nice alternatives are the Safire and SaFire Milk themes.
