Bloglines Skin 1.3
As well as many little tweaks, changes in this version:
- The biggie is that feeds are now displayed properly when using keyboard shortcuts to scroll to previous and next (J, K)
- Read feeds are no longer bold – only unread feeds
- The status message when refreshing the subscriptions is now skinned (includes an OS X spinner!)
Things outstanding for another version*:
- Changing the default ‘feed with no favicon’ icon
- Alternative header to the wood

Jon,
I just fired this up and I’m impressed. Thanks for releasing and updating it!
I’d like to suggest a tweak for 1.3:
#actionBar { color:#fff; !important; }
This would color the pipes in the “Account | Help | Log Out” area white instead of the BloglinesTealâ„¢

works brilliantly—keep it up!

Thanks Brian, do you know, I hadn’t noticed that? That’ll be in the next version.

I loved your work, brother!
I must say that I use it with the Stylish extension (sorry, I don’t have the URL right now; but it is possble to start from www.userstyles.org), what makes awesomely easy to tweak your CSS. ;)
I’ve done two tweaks at all.
First, I modified the first declaration to:
*, body, div, p, input, textarea {
font-family: “Lucida Grandeâ€, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif !important;
font-size: 14px !important;
}
That produces bigger fonts, useful to those who work in 1280×1024, like me.
The second tweak was adding the following line:
h3 a.bl_itemtitle { font-size: 22px !important; }
That makes the post titles bigger, improving overall usability.
Again, I must say you did an excelent job!

Janio, as the css file says, feel free to make your own adjustments to the rules to suit your own tastes. I’ll probably keep the text size rules as they are in the official version.

May you be paid back a hundredfold for this boon you have bestowed upon us…

Love it, thank you so much!

So when it says ”/* Feel free to alter to your own needs, but please don’t distribute */” in the CSS, does that mean I can’t post my extremely altered version to my own blog for my friends to download?:
Thanks by the way, because it was a great skin to start with.
Jon Hicks said 574 days ago:
Ansel, if it is extremely altered then that would be fine, as long as a credit to the original is included in the css.

Hi Jon, I hope you don’t mind but I created a style from your code on www.userstyles.org. I’ve been updating it as you update the code, if anyone is interested in a one-click install for the Stylish Firefox extension the link is here:

Jon, a heads up to this latest version, because the links are now not bold all of the links on the right hand frame (before you select a feed). So the Home > My Feeds area. All the links are exactly the same style as the text so you can’t find the links.
I hope that made sense.
