Cabel Sasser: Coda Confidential

I spent a thoroughly fulfilling hour last night watching Cabel Sasser’s presentation for C4 on how Panic started, developing my favourite tool Coda, and generally interface and icon design. I’ve never heard Cabel talk before, although I got an impression of his voice from his blog, but the reality was better than I had imagined.

I too watched this last night. Must have been something Geeky in the air!

I thought it was great to hear about Panics amazing attention to detail, even beyond those pesky 3 pixels! The fact they made the effort to design Coda as resolution independent even though it’s unlikely to see the light of day for some time shows their level on innovation.

Roll on Coda 1.5

Watched this the other day too, a great presentation.

I’m impressed with how far Panic have come and they seem to continue to grow and pump out some great products! Hopefully image editing comes next for them, they have the potential to create a masterful Fireworks/Photoshop alternative!

I watched this the other day and found it really interesting. The main thing that struck me however is how well Cabel presented. He seems to have a really great sense of humor that really made the time fly.

I really enjoyed the talk too. Best Finder bug ever.

@Sam: Absolutely. I can see a Web design app as the perfect project for them. I actually emailed the guys about it around a month ago. Mike replied saying they were obviously busy with existing projects but that he would mention it :).

If you are a fan of Cabel’s presentation style I heartily recommend you browse his blog archives and check out his Nintendo DS Lite video reviews.

@Dave Cabel’s blog is great indeed. I really liked the DS battery test – the DS (switched on) in the trolly at a supermarket among other unexpected places.
