CSS & XHTML Designer needed in Canterbury

The University of Kent, is currently looking for a Design and Publishing officer, and interestingly, it’s a post which requires a strong knowledge of CSS and (X)HTML.

It’s based in Canterbury, in the South-East of England, and I’m led to believe that the pay range is £19,460 to £29,128. If you’re interested in applying, further details are available here.

if i was closer, and fancied a change from being webmaster here at the university of salford, i’d consider it.

Coz I want to move to Scotland, and Canterbury is a bit far!

Why Scotland, and where?

Jon Hicks said 1381 days ago:

Reasons;
1. Family up there (my wife’s), so help with the kids.
2. Cheaper houses than Oxfordshire. For the same money, we can get a farmstead!
3. I really love Glasgow. We go up there at least 6 times a year. Good venues, good eating, good shopping & friendly people.

I would like to live in London. I now live in the US but London has always fascinated me.

So has poor Miles left Kent? As a former lecturer there, I can’t really recommend it—and Canterbury itself, albeit beautiful, is nice to visit but not so nice to live in. Like a lot of the South East of England, it is sucked dry of life and energy by the behemoth of London!

No, its someone called Paul Haine. I think it may have changed a lot since then ‘spk’, as he was very keen that all his hard work didn’t go to waste.

Miles is still here, and I expect he will always be here – the job isn’t related to him or his department, though, it’s for the university Computing Service.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time making our various websites XHTML/CSS based, making them as accessible as possible, and so on, but the University, though, has only advertised for a replacement on their vacancies webpage (with the possibility of it going on jobs.ac.uk about 2 days before the application deadline)

This is why I asked Jon to post it here and advertise it to the CSS design community. I don’t wish to see everything I’ve done get thrown away…

If anyone has any questions about the job, I’m happy to answer them if they’re mailed to p.haine at kent.ac.uk.

Thanks again for posting this, Jon.

Yay, good choice! Glasgow absolutely rocks – some call it a dangerous city, but just avoid the neds and dodgy purveyors of fish suppers, and you’ll be fine :) Just watch out for us geeks tho!
