Five.

Ah been nabbed I tells ya. Seeing as I haven’t sucked up to a meme in a while, I’ll let this one happen. Five things you may not know about me…

  1. I studied wildlife illustration at college. I loved the feel of acrylic paint on brush and paper, and didn’t think I’d end up designing with code. I miss those days, but I can’t paint fast enough to make it work financially.
  2. I entered the Simplified Standards logo contest under a pseudonym. I’m glad I did, the logo wasn’t the best, and it lost. No, I won’t tell you which one!
  3. I actually love eggs much more than cheese. Scrambled, boiled, poached or fried, I’m satisfied, as long its eggs.
  4. I met my wife Leigh when I sold her my 1972 Yellow VW Beetle. It sounds trite when people say that “you’ll know when you meet the right one”, but I really did know.
  5. I once appeared on the cover of a leaflet for the Church of England entitled “The next Vicar…in your church?” pretending to sing. They made me take my glasses off, which I found rather odd. Surely glasses would’ve made me look like ideal Vicar material?

I hereby tag the next 5 people to comment.

Hmm, isn’t self-tagging somewhat akin to onanism? In which case I know what that makes me…

The heart on #34 is totally your style. If I had to guess, I’d say that one was yours.

(P.S. Camino 1.1a2 was released.)

Richard said 638 days ago:

My guess is you did #8… I could be wrong, but it looks like it could slot right into your portfolio.

Jerry said 638 days ago:

My guess would be you did #18

I’m pretty much confident you did 54
Could just be because that’s the one I like the most in the list though :)

I’d go for #38 because it’s got your old logo on it.

My personal favourite is the che chevara Zeldman, but then again, the Badger is so damn cute…

I don’t care about your entry, I just think #4 of the things about you is lovely .

Must’ve been strange getting the odd lift in your old car.

P.S. When I tab from the Name field it jumps to your logo rather than the E-mail field. Kinda weird.

So Logos make all your life. You even met your wife with the help of logos. Don’t let them go

I agree that #38 reminds one of your recent logo, but doubt that you did it, since it’s just too close to it.
I would say you did one using a font similar to #15.

…but i like #13 the best, simply because it’s simple, and despite how generic/plain it looks, i think it’s the most useful and descriptive.

The one that won just looks a bit too web2.0 which (i know, i know) seems just too overdone now (there, i’m in ‘that’ camp, now).

To be honest, after looking at most of the entries, I feel that it’s a case of ‘rip it up and start again’. None of them really sparked any ‘professional’ interest in me. The badger was fun though, reminded me of O’Reilly books.
