For Leigh
This is for Leigh, who at this moment has just a few hours left before she leaves work to join me as a partner in the business. It’s going to be a mixed bag of emotions, the wrench of leaving a job she loves, and (hopefully!) looking forward to more time with the family, as well as evolving and growing Hicksdesign into new areas.
I just wanted to take time out to say publicly how much I admire her for taking this brave, hard decision, and I hope I can as supportive to her as she was to me when I started freelancing. I couldn’t have made the leap without her encouragement, now it’s her turn to make that leap.
I really hope you enjoy your last day at Harcourt, Leigh, I’m so lucky to have you as a wife and a partner. I’m looking forward to what we can do together…

Couldn’t agree more. Enjoy your last day Leigh, I’m sure you will.
We will all have to meet up in the New Year.
Hope you all have a fantastic Christmas.

All the best to you both. I’ve been freelance for 5 weeks now, and Jon, like you, I couldn’t have made the leap without the support of my other half: she’s behind me 100% and that gives me the confidence I need to make a roaring success of my business.
Best wishes for 2007!

Best of luck man. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
But, in the second paragraph, where you say “and I hope I can as supportive to her” did you really mean “and I hope I can be as supportive to her”? Or is it some difference between British English and American English I don’t know.
Congratulations again.

That is a massive crazy coincidence. It’s my wife’s last day at work as well because she’s gonna be working with me now. She’s also wanting to be home more cause we’re havin a kid, but wow, what a weird coincidence.

To Jon & Leigh,
I hope and pray that this upcoming year will be one of much blessing: love, laughter, good work, harmony, a few good fights, and deepening.
Good luck and providence on the new adventure of the family freelance business. Make sure to take time to walk away from the computers and phone and out into the shire at least once a week.
;o)
