You lived in Windermere?!
I used to live in Ambleside…
Paul said 841 days ago:
Hi Jon,
I thought I had read somewhere that you were from Leamington! Not that I am (forgive the excitement at such a revelation), but having designed a lot of sites for estate agents situated there I kind of feel a connection! That and I was there at the weekend, but thats not important right now…!
Do your Leamington roots mean you class yourself a ‘Midlander’?! If so I know a few people who would like it if you did !

Boston, eh? You can crash at my place.
Stuart Frisby said 841 days ago:
YAY! for Leamington/Coventry, I’m from Nuneaton myself, but all my family are from Coventry!
Sarah said 841 days ago:
Interesting, why Boston? Not that it’s at all a bad place. I just moved there (here?) from Oxford for a job and have been missing England desperately. Think of the cheese, Jon!

Stockholm! Sweden´s beautiful capital city. Me like! ;)

Sorry to disagree, but I absolutely hated the old Italian Job, the ending was just terrible. The new one was so much better.

I had lived in less than four places. And I don’t watch tv. My life’s a bore.
Simon said 840 days ago:
Brrrr! It’s really cold here in Sweden, in Stockholm it’s berable but in the south it’s -16 degrees Celcius in the nights. Brrrr!

Finally someone on my side, someone who can look beyond Charlize Theron. The original was plain and simple UK vs Italy. In the football match, the English robbers against the Italian police, Mini vs. Alfa. The remake lacked coherence. German (yes, the new Mini is just a BWM 2 series) cars with a English name taking revenge in the USA for something that happend in Italy.

Hi Jon
Interesting, I lived in Windermere for a while, went to Blackpool College and was the location agent for much of the Elizabeth film (Cate Blanchett is lovely, Eric …).
Tend to haunt the Shiira forum more than the Camino… Blade Runner!!

Y’know … I’d never heard of 3hive.com before … now I’ve been downloading tracks from them for the past 30 minutes. I’ve got work to do, you know. Good stuff.

Well, I live 5 minutes from ROYAL Leamington Spa. You forgot that part Jon! Quite a nice town, very stylish town centre.
Chris Neale said 840 days ago:
Boston, Massachusetts presumably ?
Not PE21.

I’m not as big a fan of Look Around You since they changed the format from an OU-style parody.
Did you ever get to see Part Troll?
Dysfunksional.Monkey said 840 days ago:
I’m with you on Elizabeth – what a great film. I’m not a big fan of period films, but that one captivates me whenever its on. Well worth watching if you’ve never seen it.

I’m curious why you list Boston as one of your favorite cities, Jon. Not because I disagree, but I’m curious what aspects of the city appeal to you the most?
Of all the American cities I’ve had the pleasure of visiting, Boston, MA is my favorite by far. Much of my fascination with the city can be traced to my love of history, which Boston has plenty of. But it is also a small city, with amazing culture, architecture, educational institutions and great sports teams.
I highly recommend a visit, if you’ve never been.

Jon! What about The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean by Giuseppe Tornatore? Just one word: amazing.
And what about having some spaghetti ? If you want some, well, don’t go to the restaurant: come to Italy… ;-)
Anyway, very nice “four things”...
Chris said 839 days ago:
A fellow (ex-) Blackpudlian eh, I think you made the right choice in getting the hell out of here though!!
Windermere rocks, its a place for all seasons… Love it, love it, love it!!!
Emil Stenström said 839 days ago:
Hey! I’m trying to follow the track backwards here, you can’t just not link to the one who sent the meme to you! ;) (well, except of course… if you made it… did you?)
Jon Hicks said 839 days ago:
@ Paul – Yep, I’m a Midlander through and through!
As for the Boston and Stockholm thing -these are 2 places I’ve never been to, but really want to visit. Especially the whole New England in the Fall thing. After that would be Canada.
Sorry Emil, I’ll update the post.
