28.09.07 gReader 1.3: "Straight outta beta" release
A lot of wierdness since Google Reader went 1.0, and fixing it has given me some headaches. However, its cleaned up again!
1.3 “Straight outta beta” release
- fixed gaps and shifts caused by recent changes by Google
- Theme should no longer affect other Google pages in Safari and Omniweb (let me know if it does)

THANKS…
∞ shaps said 895 days ago:
Thanks for the update! Must get annoying with Google constantly changing their code.
I’m still finding a few errors running it with Firefox.
(1) Trends is pushed too far down and is partially hidden.
(2) There is still a gap between the search box and the main window/home sidebar.
Thanks once again for all of the hard work.

Looks beautiful in Opera 9.5 on the Mac; thanks for the update!
∞ Jon Hicks said 895 days ago:
C’mon, ease up on the bug reports – its taken ages to get to this stage!
@Simon – ah! So you’ve turned back!!
∞ James said 895 days ago:
I’m fairly new to this site but I’d like to thank you for all your hardwork on this and keeping up with google so fast.
Much appreciated here!
∞ Nico said 895 days ago:
Thanks for the update, man. I really love your skin :)
Btw: Is this supposed to look like this?

I’m using Opera 9.23

I’d given up ever being able to use this again unless I switched browsers — you, sir, are a legend.
Since this theme is worth more to me, frankly, than a lot of software I’ve actually paid for, and since I looked around for a Paypal tip jar and didn’t see one, I’ve donated a few quid to the Forgiveness Project instead; that said, if you do have some way I could buy you a virtual pint I’d happily do that as well.

Thank you so very very much ! :3
∞ Jonathan said 895 days ago:
Thanks again! All your work is much appreciated.
∞ fisio said 895 days ago:
thanks!
∞ William Alexander said 895 days ago:
Thanks!
∞ Jon Hicks said 895 days ago:
I used to run a tip jar for the theme, but then felt that meant I could never give up on it if people have paid for it! So what you’ve done is a great idea, thankyou!

Running the latest OW alpha, I still have Google’s search results showing up with different text formatting. Gmail’s text formatting looks different too, but the service isn’t broken like it was with 1.2
Thanks again for all your hard work!

Thank you so very much :-D

Thanks for the update! It’s too bad userstyles.org seems to be down right now.

Hello,
The newline markers in the script seem to be broken on linux.

Never mind, the new lines, it becomes after the first save in Stylish.
btw, Red is a too bright a color for unread. I do change it to blue everytime.
Thanks for the style.

dratz! The dreaded “bandwidth limit exceeded” error. How else can I access or plug this script into my gReader?
thx

∞ Richard said 894 days ago:
As everyone else has stated before, this is one of the best things to happen to Google Reader. I find myself dreading each GR update, because that means a temporary switch back to the default view. Google should really do something and buy this style from you and incorporate it as an option.
Keep up the awesome work!
∞ Jon Hicks said 894 days ago:
Those having problems with userstyles.org being down, can just cut and paste the css code from the download into a new stylish style, or replace the existing one!
∞ Cirox said 894 days ago:
Great Jon, I like very much your job on gReader.
My experience with gReader, maybe could be useful to others:
I have installed following your instructions, but, nothing, didn’t work.
If I digited www.google.com/reader/view was ok, but I use www.google.it… so I have understood and I have added the italian google url-prefix in gReader.css to Firefox and Camino, and now if I digit www.google.it/reader/view I can see the right style… :)
(I hope to have been clear with my non perferct english.)
∞ Jon Hicks said 894 days ago:
Cirox – many thanks for that, I feel shameful to have not considered that it would need to use different country domains! Thanks, I’ll add that to the installation instructions
∞ Desides said 894 days ago:
I’m having some difficulties with the update. Stylish pops up an error saying “Unknown propeprty ‘-webkit-border-radius’. Declaration dropped.” After forcing an install, the spacing on GReader appears wrong, similar to what shaps and Nico have posted about.
Thank you very much for the continued support, Jon. This is a wonderful theme, and I wish Google would do this kind of thing by default.
∞ Jon Hicks said 894 days ago:
Userstyles and stylish can be a royal pain in the ass sometimes. I forgot to remove the webkit line (as I would normally do), but I’ve done that now – try again, it should be OK!
∞ jonas said 894 days ago:
you´re the best!
∞ sean johnson said 893 days ago:
Gawd bless ya John – You’re a diamond!
Haven’t you heard Google have appointed a crack team of engineers to develop “LetsPissOffJohnHicks” bugs
∞ shyam said 893 days ago:
Can’t thank you enough for the skin and the steady updates. You rock :)
∞ Desides said 892 days ago:
The update gets rid of the webkit-border-radius line, so that’s good. But the spacing is still goofed. Damn, I wish Google would quit changing their code so often. There’s no need for it.
Thanks again for the theme, Jon. It makes GReader bearable.
∞ Rob Mason said 892 days ago:
Thanks for this…seems to work fine for me. Keep up the good work.
∞ Gaston said 892 days ago:
Thanks for updating this. : )
