Icon Design Explained (Quickly) is a post on The Hickensian

Last night was a great Oxford Geek Night, with a good mix of topics. I particularly enjoyed ‘Designing a web app with character’ by Denise Wilton, not because I got a mention, but because she brought up concepts that saved me some time in the wee 5 minutes that I had to explain Icon Design!

As promised, here are my slides for the presentation. They are a very quick run through of some guidelines for icon design, as well as a workflow using the Pathfinder icon as an example. You can also “download the PDF”: http://www.slideshare.net/hicksdesign/icon-design/download of the slides, but they’ll make more sense once the audio/video from the talks is available.
