@media is upon us

Hooray! @media is finally upon us! I’m really looking forward to meeting people that I’ve only had email conversations with, people I met at SXSW, and people I haven’t heard of yet. The speaker lineup and subject matter looks great, but apologies in advance if I fall asleep during a seminar. This may be only opportunity to catch up.

That’s what I heard as well Jason. In fact, rumours go that Jon would wait for you at customs and upon setting foot on British soil he’d kick you in the groin—though gently, just so you can get accustomed to his future full-blown, mega kickings.

Hence me sitting here across the pond in The Netherlands. I am terrified. That and possibly the fact you can’t pay with paperclips and peanuts..

I, unfortunately, won’t be able to join the fun thanks to a project running (very) over deadline and budget…

And I’d planned on buying a couple of rounds in an effort to make some new friends at the shindigs afterwards, too (and to thank Jon for appraising my crappy design skills months ago)!

When’s the next big UK-based webby event, anyone?

I did, and it’s true. Despite my being horrified that I could recognise you in the registration cure by the back of your head. That’s just weird.

The conference went really well, especially for a first time I thought. Douglas Bowman has the world swishest presentation slide layouts.

Just in the Apple Store (and hijacked a Powerbook G4) – very nice in here!

Again just wanted to back up Matthew’s comment and say it was great to have a little chat to you (as you were trying to escape the bar) – much appreciated! And good to know it’s not just me who has gone all slushy in front of Mr. Bowman!

Was a really great conference, I think most will agree mainly down to the social aspect which as important as listening to the great and good of Web Standards and Accesibility.

Thanks for being such a friendly fellow Jon, it was great to meet you (albeit at Steve Marshall’s loss). I’ll try to remember that I owe you a pint, too. Mind you, given how badly I’m doing remembering the names of other people I met, that could go somewhat awry.

It was a fantastic event, I’ll have to get around to a proper write up of my own soon. Prehaps when I get home this evening…
