New Design Blogs

With the exception of NetDiver, I don’t go to CSS/’cool website’ showcases for ideas – I’ve discovered a raft of great design blogs that are providing me with a fresh source of inspiration.

Here are my current favourites:

Happy Mundane -celebrating good design in the ordinary and everyday. Hits the spot everytime.
Waterhalo – A sketchbook based journal. I wish I could find time to do something like this!
design*sponge & MocoLoco – biased towards furnishings. Great for colour and shape ideas especially.
notcot.org – this probably doesn’t count as a blog, more of showcase (hah!) of well designed products. Don’t bother with the bizarre RSS feed, I have this saved as my homepage to check it regularly.

Plus, from the comments, there’s another gem! A big thanks to Rachel for Prints & Pattern, and awesome supply of colour, shape/pattern ideas. Also, Dan Malls link for Daily Type. Yum!, my iPhoto scrapbook is bulging!!

Honored to have NOTCOT.org included in your list – have been reading your site longer than i’ve been running mine! As for the NOTCOT.org RSS – the whole project has been an ongoing live work-in-progress/experiment – so the RSS feed went a bit nuts as we’ve been changing the backend. Its on the list of to do’s! Fascinating – I basically only go back time and time again to Netdiver as well. Lately, I too have been getting hooked on design blogs like design*sponge, waterhalo, print and pattern and outblush .

I check out the webcream RSS feed all the time. I’ve always found great things there.

Just awesome blogs… Thanks, you have saved me a lot of time in searching interesting things in the web. I always got to go to local libraries (here in Paries it is not difficult to find one) to get real inspiration, and not just Photoshop effectism.

I’ve known about netdiver for quite some time, and the last time I took a look at it I didn’t really appreciate it and somewhat forgot about it. Ignorant young designer I was (maybe still am).

But I took another look after reading this blog entry, and I want to punish myself by slamming my head against the keyboard repeatedly for overlooking this wonderful website dripping with designer talent and inspiration.

Definitely a breath of fresh air from the other galleries that I’ve grown sick of from the staleness and stagnation.
