For anyone that likes to know what music I’m listening to, there is now a simple xml feed for the ‘playlist’ section. Each one links to the artists website for you to discover more. Probot, Auf Der Maur, Stellastar and Divine Comedy are particular favourites right now…

While we’re on the subject, let me know what’s floating your boat musically at the moment. I’m always on the look out for recommendations…

If you like anything symphonic/choral/new age, ES Posthumus is incredible music. You've probably heard them on movie trailers like Spider-man and Matrix Reloaded (full list here).

I'm also listening to Enigma, Delerium, and Era.

Check out Death Cab For Cutie, Glen Phillips, and Sarah Harmer. Two American acts and one Canadian. Sarah's more on the folky end of things but she rocks out too (also see Weeping Tile for her back catalog).

Oh, and Hayden - another Canadian. His new album came out on Tuesday.

I'm a proud Canuck and there's some really great Canadian music out there that people should be exposed to.

You might like listening to Shane Nicholson, he is an Australian artist and was absolutely amazing in concert as a support act for another Australian band named George. While I'm at it, everyone has to love The John Butler Trio!

Lately I've been listening to Bill Frisell & the Intercontinentals. A wonderful mix of American, Greek, African music that draws from tradition to make something new and fresh. This album reveals its depth as you listen. The clips don't really do it justice.

Bireli Lagrene [Gipsy Project & Friends], Switchfoot [have all albums], Model Engine [out of print, but worth owning],
Blackeyed Sceva [Model Engine before they changed drummers - also out of print], oh, and the 77's [have 90% of their albums recommend '88'].

Using a fancy-pants Winamp plugin I can look on my site and discover that the last song I listened to was "Head On" by The Jesus and Mary Chain. Which is like so much easier than just remembering it.

There's a really good internet radiostation for it too: http://www.bassdrive.com/ Try it sometime, I think you'll enjoy it.

All are fairly soft and delicate, but amazing. I also very much agree with the Damien Rice recommendation.

Martagnan - It was seeing Lost in Translation that did it!

Matt - Innocence Mission! I have their first album, and wasn't aware that they were still going, Great, I'll have to look out for that one.

I've heard plenty of nice things about Damien Rice too, that'll get checked out as well. Thanks again folks.
