Presumably because you can fit more in?

I just had to show you this piece of awesomeness, created by a friend of a friend.

By fit more in it, do you mean college students?

My good pal Greg is crazy into the doctor. He had this display unit built for him to hold his gear. I believe he worked on the development of it, but am not sure if he built it or not. :)

Regardless, he should sell them.

Now all we need is a Dalek Trashcan that says “EX-TER-MIN-ATE!” when you toss “rubbish” in it!

Hey Guys!

I’m the friend of the friend! :) (I went to high school with Mathew Hoy…Hey Mat!! )

Anyways to answer Mat’s questions….

1. No I didn’t build it. A friend of my sister’s did. She and her husband run a small town woodworking and customs cabinets business. I can’t give names because I don’t know if they have okay’d be to even say!

2. This is for the BBC. In case one of there guys sees the pics. No profit was gain in making this box. All i had to pay for was the lumber and paint. I did work with the husband to design the inside. It’s custom made to fit my entertainment needs. (i.e. My xbox 360, receiver, HD DVD player. etc.) the shelves are adjustable and the drawers are there to store my movies and video gaming equipment.

3. I decided on the entertainment center because, I needed one! :) and it didn’t feel like a waste of space. I’m a big fan of Doctor Who. I grew up watching the Tom Baker repeats over here in Canada on TVO. (basically a free version of BBC in England, by that I mean it only shows Canadian and British shows….mostly educational stuff).

4. As for the dalek trashbin. Nah. But a dalek dvd holder might be a nice idea! :) Anyways there’s more pics on my facebook profile or the blog owner can just post more. Just blank out my face please! :)

Oh….and by the way…did I mention that it travels in time as well?! LOL :D

What does the switch on the left do? Does it make the light at the top light up when you close the doors?

I bet it reverses the polarity of the neutron flow.

(and yes I want one too)

Gerben.

What does the switch on the left do? Well your right. It turns on the light! :) When the doors a closed, there’s that mini little door. You know where you open it up to get access to the phone. Well it opens up and I just reach in and turn on the switch or answer the phone. (the phone hasn’t been installed yet and it’s not going to be an “original” phone either! :( Don’t have the room. It’s going to have to be on of those new thin line corded phones. Course if I pull out my trust sonic screwdriver…I could reverse the polarity of the neutron flow! ;)
