The New Banter

Armstrong and Miller are back (after what seemed like an age), and they bring with them new, modernised, RAF Banter. (If you want to know what the old banter was like, you need to watch this)

There’s more here (thanks to the Badger )

This is amazing. I had to look at the RAF Banter twice, mainly because English is not my mothertongue, but still, I almost fell from my chair laughing.

Great stuff, though in my book nothing beats a bit of Terry Thomas and his “hard cheese old boy” style quips (whilst playing a little lawn tennis)…

I watched this last Friday as well and it had me laughing, which is a rarity for Friday night television viewing. Im definitely looking forward to this weeks show. :).

I may be misreading it, but is this funny predominantly because it’s Upper-Class White People Speaking Like Lower-Class Black People?

Because I’ve seen a lot of that over the years, and don’t find any of it particularly funny. But this American may be missing nuances of Anglo-Saxon culture, and besides, I know you’re an aware, stand-up guy, John; I’ll save my indignation.

Someone care to explain?

(That Python bit is great.)

I live across the pond here in the U.S. Every time I see British comedy, I’m reminded of brilliant a sense of humor the Brits and how much I would love to live there. Loved the clip; thanks for sharing.

Steve – if you have to explain it, it’s not funny! However the ‘Lower-Class Black People’ bit is wrong, they’re just speaking like teenagers.

I’m sorry, but if you don’t get a kick out of an RAF officer describing his new trousers as ‘dead hardcore with pockets n’ shit’, then why bother commenting?!
