Opinion seems divided over Wolf Parade, but I’m very much in love with this song. Perhaps coming from Montreal doesn’t help comparisons with The Arcade Fire (Wolf Parade are also supporting them on the current tour).

Honestly, I didn’t like the album much at first, because I was listening to it in iPod-spoonfuls, mixed and dashed and separated. Once you can actually listen to it straight through as an album, it suddenly becomes a much better listen. Weird.
I also just listened to “Modern World” about 30 seconds ago. That’s my fav song on the album.

jon – come to montreal sometime, the music scene here is terrific and we also do cheese and beer very, very well. no standards community though….
a little wolf parade trivia: their loft/practice/party/show space is called ‘100-sided die’, which I’m sure will amuse other geeks like me.
gb – try getting your hands on the earlier demo version of modern world. it’s totally bodanis – way more electro and herky-jerky than the album version. I’m coming around to the latter, but love the earlier recording of the song.
